Fake jerseys

For me I buy the authentics and try to support O’Neills/Elverys . I can understand some people with larger families etc looking a cheaper option though
Gaa gear in general like everything in Ireland is terribly expensive and probably not worth the money.
The average GAA fan is getting rinsed for money these days. Ticket prices through the roof. Intercounty games locked behind paywalls. Club gear gone up in price aswell (and down in quality I might add). Thats on top of pretty much everything else becoming more expensive.
County jerseys is the one area where fans have a viable alternative in knock-off brands. Its far from ideal, but there the choices many GAA fans are having to make. Saying they ‘can do without’ is really unfair. I’d never judge someone for buying knock-offs in the middle of a cost of living crisis – anyone that does would want to get off their high horse.
Plus, you can buy last year’s Jersey for half the price on apps like depop. When you buy a jersey, some of that money goes back into your county.
I wouldn’t buy them personally, feels like yer taking money out of the game.
I tend to prefer retro jersey’s and keep an eye out for second hand ones while buying the teams new kit. Even tho retros for certain teams seem to be hard to come by, they still pop up every now and then so there needs to be pretty good reasoning for me to buy a knock off rather than holding out for a real one even tho they may be expensive.
