There’s club action taking place all over the country at the moment and a lot of the county finals are coming down to the business end with semi-finals and finals taking place all over.

The Cavan county football final was on, on Sunday and there some unsavoury scenes at full-time ..

I don’t know what happened or what was said before hand but that number 11 needs a lifetime ban for the stamps and (a soft one I know) attempt of a kick that’s disgusting shite.

What’s the context? One side clearly weren’t happy with the ref, but then something started further into the field???

Mostly handbags but number 11 for the green team needs the book thrown at him. Kicking and stamping some old lad who was on the ground. Pure scumbag behaviour

The last couple of seasons, toxic “hard man” shite has gotten into the club game, the GAA needs to come down harder on 1.) abuse towards referees 2.) fights during and after games.

Not necessarily scraps or handbags stuff, but the stamping on lads that are down. I know in many parishes this kind of carry-on is being encouraged. There needs to be real consequences for this. No. 11 going in several times to stick a boot in is shocking stuff, plain cowardly.

GAA really let’s itself down so often with this nonsense. Officials should be trained better and referees should be supported and help to improve also.
