Frank Lampard has a message for angry Everton fans😯

Frank Lampard has asked angry Everton fans to leave his players alone after incidents last week.

Things are going too well on the blue side of Merseyside.

Everton is struggling yet again this season and finds themselves in another brutal relegation battle. There was so much hope for Lampard and his side when they narrowly escaped going down last season but unfortunately, history is repeating itself.

Along with the poor results is a toxic environment with everything coming to a boil last weekend.

The Toffees lost to bottom-of-the-league Southampton and there were mass protests outside the ground. Two Everton players, Anthony Gordon and Yerry Mina were stopped by angry fans when they tried to leave the ground.

The Columbian defender even confronted one of the protestors.

Now Lampard has urged the fanbase not to approach his players.

‘I’ve spoken to the players about the situation. I think firstly this isn’t just an Everton situation.’ he said.

‘I’ve been at teams where similar things have happened to maybe myself, to a degree, and to other players so lets not try make this an Everton situation.

‘This club has a huge passion which is pretty unique. I’ve said that in the good times, so I can say that in the not so good times.

‘Sometimes passion can overspill in a good way. Then especially in the minority cases when it’s certain incidents and now everything gets videoed so it becomes viral every day.

‘I think the majority of Evertonians want this club to do well. They’ve got a right to voice an opinion in a game, around the game, in a pub.’
