Frank Bruno is one of the most popular British boxers of all-time and famously became the WBC heavyweight in 1995.

Bruno claimed the title from Oliver McCall in an emotional night at Wembley stadium winning via a unanimous decision.

It was his fourth shot at a world title having lost the previous three attempts to Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis and Tim Witherspoon respectively.

In his first defence of his title he came up against Mike Tyson again and was relieved of his strap via a third round TKO.

So it comes as no surprise when Bruno named ‘Iron Mike’ as the best fighter he took on.

Speaking to The Ring, he said:

“Tyson had it all; the hunger to win the belts, to fight, to move and determination to take anybody down that crossed him at his peak. He knew the quicker he could get rid of his opponent the less chance he would get caught and he was determined to get rid of his opponents quickly.”
