Francis Ngannou has reacted to the news that Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have signed contracts to fight.
The former UFC heavyweight champion is due to face Tyson Fury on October 28th in Saudi Arabia in a huge crossover event dubbed ‘Battle Of The Baddest.’

Yesterday it was announced that Fury and Usyk would collide to decide the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999 (Lennox Lewis) with the bout pencilled in for December 23rd or January 2024.
This is the biggest fight that could possibly be made in our sport.

So you can forgive Ngannou’s bemused reaction given that the two fights are bizarrely so close together.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) he posted:
‘I don’t know what’s the minimum medical suspension in boxing but I really don’t understand how Tyson can fight in December after what’s going to happen on 10/28.’
