🚨 Former UFC champion suggests bold opponent for Oleksandr Usyk’s next fight

Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury to become the undisputed heavyweight champion.

The Ukrainian added Fury’s WBC strap to his collection defeating the Brit by split-decision last weekend.

Usyk is contractually obliged to engage Fury in a rematch with ‘The Gypsy King’ already activating the rematch clause and a bout potentially taking place in October of this year.

But, former UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman wants to see him face another opponent.

Speaking on his podcast ‘Pound 4 Pound’ with former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo, Usman said he thinks Usyk and Francis Ngannou should fight next.

He said: “I know it’s crazy, and I know everyone is going to try and say something about it, but I would love to see [Usyk] fight a guy like Francis Ngannou. Only for the sheer fact of, yes I want to see the level of skill here. Yes [Usyk] has schooled the other guys, but Francis is the biggest puncher out there, and I want to see how Oleksandr Usyk is able to break a guy like that down.”

Usman’s co-host, Henry Cejudo offered a different take and replied: “The real winner in this is really Tyson Fury because Tyson Fury gets another clause, you know, he has a rematch clause to fight [Usyk] once again, and not just that, but there is that potential match between him and Anthony Joshua.”

It’s unlikely that Ngannou will get to face Usyk next after suffering a brutal knockout defeat to Anthony Joshua last time out.
