Mesut Ozil has decided to hang his boots up for good and wants his contract with Istanbul Basaksehir to be terminated immediately.
The German midfielder has an incredible career and will be forever known for his incredible assists and magic moments.
When Ozil signed for Arsenal it was a huge moment in the club’s history and he showed just how good he was in that first season. But after a fantastic start to life at the Emirates, the 35-year-old eventually left after a huge falling out with the club.

Ozil then moved to Turkey where has spent the past few years playing up until now.
According to the Turkish outlet Fanatik, the midfielder spontaneously told his teammates that he would be quitting football in the dressing after their most recent game.
