Former Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has been banned from entering the dressing room by his current club, Boca Juniors.
The Argentine has been banished from the club after an intense spat with coach Miguel Ángel Russo and his staff.
According to a report from ESPN, Rojo was removed from the squad after a strong argument with the coach.
Along with the 35-year-old defender, Boca have also banished defender Cristian Lema and left-back Marcelo Saracchi, and they will train separately.
The trio has been informed that they cannot use the club’s locker room. The Buenos Aires giant will have to decide what to do with the three players, but Rojo’s future at the club is as good as over.
Boca are going through a disastrous run, having gone 11 consecutive games without a win.
They struggled during the Club World Cup, managing only a draw against Auckland City of New Zealand.
After their 1-0 defeat to Huracan in the second phase of the Argentine Primera Division, Rojo was involved in a fiery bust-up with his coach, and as a result, he has been removed and ostracised.
Rojo played 122 times for Manchester United and then returned to Boca Juniors in 2021.
He has a contract at the Argentine club until 31 December 2025, and he will have to terminate his contract in order to secure a move elsewhere.
