Former Chelsea star SLAMS Blues’ summer signing after poor performances

Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has criticised Marc Cucurella for his recent Chelsea performances, with the Spaniard yet to find consistent form at Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year old joined Chelsea from Brighton in the summer for around £62million, but has struggled to hit the heights many expected him to.

Leboeuf, who made 204 appearances for Chelsea between 1996 and 2001, didn’t hold back when speaking about the defender.

Hopefully Reece James and Ben Chilwell will go back into fitness as soon as possible because we need them.

We don’t want to see Cucurella anymore. With all due respect to a man that I don’t know, the player is not good enough for Chelsea. It’s as simple as that.”

He also questioned the £62million fee the club paid for him, branding the deal “madness”.

They signed him for £60m or £70m, but we can see that he doesn’t belong to this level. It’s crazy.

With Ben Chilwell slowly working his way back to full fitness after a substitute appearance against Fulham last Friday, Cucurella will need to stay on his toes in order to keep his spot in Graham Potter’s starting XI.
