😬 Former British world champion claims he would have ‘bashed up’ Gennady Golovkin

George Groves is confident that he would have beaten Triple G.

Groves had a memorable career with a legendary rivalry with Carl Froch culminating in him finally winning the world title at the fourth time of trying when he forced a sixth-round stoppage of Fedor Chudinov in 2017.

But one man who was causing havoc in the division below was the hard-hitting Gennady Golovkin.

And speaking to Betway, Groves made the bold claim that he would have ‘busted up’ the Kazakh fighter.

He explained: “Martin Murray said after our fight that I hit harder than Golovkin. That was a feather in my cap.”

“If I would have ever had the chance to fight GGG I would have had to have had my wits about me, you would have to stop him stalking you. He was great at making small adjustments to get into range, then he’d detonate on you.

“It would be a mental battle where you can’t switch off for a second, but I’d have bashed him up. I’d have kept it long and busted him up.”
