Former Arsenal legend asks Tottenham fans to ‘move on’ and stop the abuse😬

Former Arsenal invincible, Sol Campbell has asked Tottenham fans to move on from his controversial transfer to their hated rivals.

Campbell was the target of furious hate from Tottenham fans for years after he decided to down tools and move in with their rivals. It was a transfer that made waves not just in England but across the entire footballing world, even to this day people still refer to him as ‘Judas’.

What made it an even harder pill to swallow for Spurs fans was that the club captain promised that he would not leave.

Campbell has now revealed that 20 years later, he is still subjected to jeers and chants.

“It’s almost as though people have forgotten how to be human,” he told The Guardian.

“Wishing and hoping that someone is going to die? And you’re going to be having a party? What world are we living in?

“I know football has its tribalism but if no one around feels that this is unacceptable, well, we’re in a really sorry place.

“We are talking about nearly a quarter of a century [since the transfer],” he added.

“Where are we going as human beings if someone cannot move on?

“I don’t think people realise how hurtful the hate and vitriol is to me. I get the situation but it’s been such a long time.”
