Eir Sport has announced that they will broadcast 15 League of Ireland games this season.

The new SSE Airtricity League season kicks off on Friday, with eir Sport’s announcement following the news that RTÉ will broadcast 18 live games.

The presenting and punditry team for eir Sport will include Conor Morris, Con Murphy and Shane Supple.

Former Bohemian’s stopper Supple, who earned an Ireland call-up last summer, was forced to retire last year due to injury.

The broadcaster also announced it would be showing all five of the Ireland U21 home games for the U21 2021 European Championships qualifying campaign.

Eir Sport Managing Director Susan Brady said at the announcement: “We are delighted to announce upcoming soccer coverage that will be exclusively live to viewers of the eir Sport pack.

“The forthcoming SSE Airtricity League season is set to provide fantastic entertainment and we are thrilled to be in a position to bring continued coverage of the league to football fans across Ireland.

“We also look forward to following Stephen Kenny, his management team and players in their upcoming 2021 European Championships qualifying campaign and we would like to wish them every success.”

Yesterday, RTÉ announced that the first of their live games would be Dundalk getting their title defence underway against Sligo.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm on Friday and RTÉ’s Friday Night Soccer will see Peter Collins joined by Stuey Byrne and Richie Sadlier with George Hamilton and Pat Fenlon on commentary.
