Man City dealt injury blow with midfielder set to miss opening month of new Premier League season

Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden is expected to miss the first MONTH of the new Premier League season.

Foden enjoyed a breakout campaign for Man City last term, having finally convinced Pep Guardiola that he was worthy of first-team opportunities.

It earned him a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 squad, with Foden’s bleach-blonde hair likely to be forever iconic in English football folklore.

You imagine the youngster will go from strength to strength this year, but his start to the 2021/22 campaign has unfortunately been disrupted.

As reported by the Telegraph, Foden is set to miss a month of action with an injury he sustained while playing for England at the European Championship.

Foden was ruled out of the latter stages of the tournament through injury, with the severity of the damage done to him at that point not determined.

The Telegraph now report that Foden suffered a quite unusual foot injury while on international duty and as a result is not expected to be seen in action until next month.

While it’s a blow for the 21-year-old, it’s not catastrophic. He’ll be all the more raring to go when he eventually does get the green light to return to the pitch.
