With Federer now being 40-years-old, there is a major question mark as to whether he will be able to recover from a procedure of this kind and return to compete at the highest level.

That is clearly his intention, with his reasoning behind going under the knife that he wants to be fit and mobile going forward, but he remains realistic has to his chances of a comeback.

Of course, there will come a day where tennis has to say goodbye to Federer, but we’re not ready for that day to come just yet. Speedy recovery, Roger, and we hope to see you back out on the court before too long.
