Fans are scratching their heads after Kepa Arrizabalaga’s horrendous mistake handed Manchester City all three points at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
Chelsea was hoping that they could get their season back on track when current title holders, Manchester City came to Stamford Bridge on Thursday. But unfortunately, a 63rd-minute goal from Riyad Mahrez condemned the London side to tenth place in the table.
Although it was a great cross from Jack Grealish, fans couldn’t help but wonder why Arrizabalaga did not claim the ball as it rolled across the face of the goal.

A lot of people took to Twitter to voice their frustration at the Chelsea goalkeeper.
“Even if someone says to leave it, the goalkeeper shouldn’t listen. In fact, Kepa should be the ones yelling at the backline, very very VERY poor fundamentals from him.” wrote one fan.
“How does Kepa Arrizabalaga not intercept this from going to Mahrez? Pathetic goalkeeping. Aaron Ramsdale would never.” wrote another.
Despite this lapse of judgement, the Spanish goalkeeper has been in sensational form for Chelsea since earning a return to the first team.
No keeper has a better save percentage than him in the season so far.
Kepa Arrizabalaga has the best save percentage in the Premier League this season (2+ appearances):
◎ 7 games
◉ 83.9% save percentage
◎ 26 saves made
◎ 5 goals conceded
◎ 4 clean sheets
