According to The Mirror Mesut Ozil’s Arsenal adventure is coming to an end with Turkish side Fenerbahce looking the most likely to land the German’s signature.

Ozil – who has been completely out of favour under manager Mike Arteta – will be hoping to make a move in the January transfer window after being left out of Arsenal’s Premier League and Europa League squads.

Fenerbahce congress member Murat Zorlu is “90 per cent sure” Ozil will make a move to Turkey in the January transfer window.

In an interview with Sport Digitale Zorlu said : “A source, who’s very well connected to the club has told me that Mesut Ozil is likely to become a Fenerbahce player during the next transfer window.

“I would say 90% he will join us in one month.”

Ozil’s contract is set to expire in the summer and Arsenal are desperate to get him off their wage bill after the World Cup winner signed a monster deal worth £350,000-a-week in Arsene Wenger’s final season.

According to Fabrizio Romano Arsenal are hoping to offload the German as soon as possible and if Ozil’s latest social media post is anything to go by it seems Turkey will be the destination.

The German has not played a single minute this season and has often been criticised for his lack of work rate off the ball.

Ozil moved to Arsenal in 2013 from Real Madrid for a then club record £42.5m and has gone on to make 254 appearances and scoring 44 goals.
