Ex-Manchester United star’s son signs for team his father played for in his youth

Nani’s son has signed with Sporting CP as he joins the team that his father made 76 appearances for in his youth.

Nani was present to see his 9-year-old son, Lucas, put pen to paper at Sporting recently in a fairytale move for the youngster.

Nani, who now plies his trade in Australia with Melbourne Victory, spent two seasons with the Lisbon side from 2005 until 2007 before he earned his big move to Manchester United in the latter year.

Nani celebrated the move by posting a picture of him and his son on Twitter, with comments aplenty congratulating the winger on his move.

Congratulations to him, following in his father’s footsteps“, “Amazing“, and “Brilliant achievement, see you at United in 10 years” were just a few of the messages posted by users on the tweet, with many of them clearly confident that young Lucas will make a move to Old Trafford in the future.

At United, Nani made 230 appearances, scoring 41 goals and assisting 73 times from 2007 until 2015 before he departed for Turkish side Fenerbahce.
