As the January transfer window approaches, teams begin preparing moves for players and it already seems that Manchester United have been handed a boost in signing a long-term target of theirs.
Over the summer, the Red Devils were heavily linked with Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong and it seemed the 25-year old would make the move with the Catalan club in financial trouble.
However, De Jong stayed after a deal over his deferred wages fell through and United were left with egg on their face, but now it seems Erik ten Hag may be reunited with his former player after the Dutchman is believed to have admitted he may be open to joining the Reds.

This news from Manchester Evening News comes after United are said to be the next club to register an interest in Borussia Dortmund and England star Jude Bellingham.
The club would be adding De Jong to an already talented midfield department containing the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen but De Jong would certainly bring offer a new dimension to the Old Trafford side, as they push for a Champions League spot once the Premier League resumes next week.
