Santo has been without a club since he decided to leave the Midlands side at the end of the most recent 2020-21 season.
Having endured an underwhelming campaign, it was widely accepted that the Portuguese gaffer and the club mutually agreed to part ways.
However, seemingly looking to get back into work as soon as possible, it has been reported by Football Insider that Santo is the favourite to take over at Everton – with an announcement expected soon.
However, most worryingly for Wolves fans – the report goes on to claim that in an attempt to welcome Santo to the club, the Merseyside outfit will look to also recruit two of the manager’s former players.
Football Insider claims Everton’s hierarchy would like to sign winger Pedro Neto and centre-back Conor Coady.
Both players are understood to be favourites of Santos’ and with the club looking for reinforcements in those positions – a double raid on their domestic rivals could help the Toffees improve on their underwhelming 10th place Premier League finish last season.
