Cenk Tosun landed himself in a bit of bother today with many fans accusing the Turkish striker of using a ‘fascist salute’ when celebrating a goal that would eventually be ruled out for offside.
It was pointed out online by the Daily Mail that Tosun raising both his pinky finger and index finger and pointing them towards the sky is a gesture used by far-right Turkish group known as the Grey Wolves.
Fans were quick to condemn the Everton man with many calling for him to be ‘banned’ or immediately dropped from the team.
It looks like Tosun just did the Grey Wolves sign in his celebration.

The Everton correspondent for The Athletic, Patrick Boyland spoke to Everton staff after the game and they revealed that they had spoken to Cenk and that he had no idea and there was no political meaning behind his celebration.
