Erling Haaland’s release clause may be much higher than first thought

Norwegian wonder-kid Erling Haaland’s contract release clause may be much higher than the originally estimated £65million.

It’s been widely reported that the Borussia Dortmund striker will be available to buy in the summer of 2022 for £65million but a new report suggests that figure isn’t quite accurate.

According to BILD, (via Caught Offside) the 20-year-olds release clause fee is closer to £86.5million which would bring the value of the Norwegian over the €100million mark.

Haaland is being closely monitored by several big clubs across Europe but the youngsters pricetag may limit his choices when the time comes.

Big spenders Manchester City and Chelsea are more than willing to splash out on the striker with Roman Abramovich reportedly giving Thomas Tuchel £260million to buy new players.

The Russian billionaire has Haaland at the top of his list so the Norwegian’s transfer may turn into a bidding war between the billionaire owners of Man City and Chelsea.
