Erling Haaland could join Manchester City this summer – but there’d be a MAJOR catch for the Premier League champions.
Haaland, 22, is probably the most coveted footballer on the planet right now, with his extraordinary goal-scoring exploits for Borussia Dortmund turning heads across the globe.
The Norwegian also has a relatively affordable release clause which is due to kick into his Dortmund contract this summer. That’ll allow interested parties to sign him for a fraction of his actual market value.
Manchester City have been one of the sides most closely linked with making a move to sign Haaland, but Pep Guardiola and the City faithful shouldn’t get too excited just yet.

According to The Sun, Haaland and agent Mino Raiola would only agree to such a move if he were allowed to have yet another release clause included in the terms of his contract.
That could see him leave Man City after just a couple of years, in the same manner that he looks set to leave Dortmund, which is hardly ideal from their perspective.
City could deem it worthwhile, with a few years of Haaland better than no Haaland at all, or they could opt to pursue alternatives when the summer market opens.
