The taking of the knee has been a constant ahead of football matches kicking off for nearly a year now.

The decision to allow players to go down on one knee pre-kickoff was made while fans were banned from entering stadiums due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

However, with fans now beginning to trickle back, loud boo’s can be heard coming from the terraces.

The latest example of a selection of fans being unhappy with the decision to take a knee was during England’s recent pre-tournament friendly against Austria on Wednesday night.

Clearly unhappy with the decision to take the knee which, regardless of the reason given now, definitely derived from US political movement BLM and the tragic killing of George Floyd – large portions of fans continue to boo.

Now, according to the Telegraph, Southgate is set to sit down with his international players and discuss the possibility of stopping taking the knee.
