Nick Kyrgios has joked that Emma Raducanu might be in a “love triangle” with two tennis stars amid rumours about her romantic relationship with Carlos Alcaraz.
Kyrgios suggested that Alcaraz and Jake Draper both might be interested in Raducanu.
In recent weeks, speculations were rife that she might be in a romantic relationship with Alcaraz following the announcement of her mixed doubles partnership with the Spaniard at the US Open.
Raducanu has later clarified that they are mere good friends.
Their off-court bonding has further fuelled speculations, with Alcaraz joining her as brand ambassadors for Evian.
They were spotted enjoying each other’s company at Wimbledon.
Kyrgios jokingly said: “I don’t know, I think it’s a love triangle! Draper, Alcaraz, Raducanu. They’re fighting over Raducanu I think, I’m not sure.
“I think the outside [she looks happy]. I don’t know who’s making her happy. The tennis world loves a love story, they love to try and put two [players] together, but Raducanu is number one British female player at the moment, she’s doing fairly well.
“Obviously, winning a grand slam at 19 is never easy, it comes with a lot of expectations from the outside world. But, you know, as long as she’s happy.
“There’s so much pressure that comes with being the number one player and playing at Wimbledon, so hopefully she can find her feet. Imagine her and Jack Draper winning the women’s and men’s title, that would be something.”
