The Argentine goalkeeper spilt the beans on how Lionel Messi reacted to his more controversial celebration after winning the Golden Glove award in December.
Emiliano Martinez was exceptional for Argentina during their World Cup campaign and outside of Messi, was probably their most important player.
He pulled off a crucial save in the last minute against France to send the final to penalties and then was the hero of the shootout.

As a reward for his heroics, he was awarded the golden glove award for being the best goalkeeper in the competition. Upon receiving the trophy he controversially put it by his crotch in celebration speaking outrage from certain people.
He has now revealed what Messi told him about this afterwards.
“Do I regret the celebrations? Well, there are things I wouldn’t do again in the same way, I didn’t set out to hurt anyone. Throughout my career, I’ve played with French people and I’ve never had a problem… You can ask Giroud what kind of person I am. I really like French culture and mentality
“The gesture I made with the best goalkeeper trophy was a joke with my teammates. I had already done it at the Copa America, and they all said to me: ‘No way’ to do it again. Even Leo told me that. I did it for them, nothing more. It lasted a second and that was it.”
