Edge’s return at the 2020 Royal Rumble was amazing

Edge is one of the greatest superstars in WWE history and his return at the 2020 Royal Rumble after nine years out of action cemented his legacy even further.

The Rated R Superstar had been forced to retire the night after WrestleMania in 2011 on medical advice due to a serious neck injury, which could have led to even worse consequences had he continued to wrestle.

With the wonders of modern medicine, he somehow was cleared to return to action in late-2019 and the Rumble was pencilled in as the perfect place for him to return. Shock returns are part of what makes the 30-man event special after all and this might be the best of the lot.

Take a look below at the epic return of Edge, as well as the mega pop from the crowd (shared on Twitter by @dennis_k_g beneath Bad Bunny’s entrance at Backlash – a double treat)

Edge looked as good as ever, hitting his first spears in a near-decade. It would mark the beginning of a second career for the man with the most titles in WWE history, and he would end up winning the Rumble the following year, as well as taking on the likes of Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles and Finn Balor at four consecutive WrestleManias.

Approaching his 50th birthday, Edge has said that he likely only has one year left of competing at the very highest level of the sport.

As his farewell tour looms, expect some more epic moments from an all-time WWE legend.
