“That fight’s happening” – Eddie Hearn spills the beans over Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury

Eddie Hearn has revealed that Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury is due to take place this August.

Paul and Fury were initially due to take to the ring in December of last year. However, Tyson Fury’s half-brother pulled out the fight after claiming that he had suffered a broken rib during training camp.

The official word from the Paul camp has been that Fury would not get a second opportunity to fight him, with Paul also understood to be unhappy with the lack of promotion Fury did in the build-up.

Still, BenchWarmers exclusively reported over a month ago that this fight WAS still on and was expected to take place in August of this year, despite media reports to the contrary.

That news has now been confirmed by Eddie Hearn. Though he represents neither of them, he has his finger on the pulse of the boxing world AND has worked closely with Jake Paul.

Hardcore boxing fans will find it difficult to look forward to this one, but there’s no doubt they’ll be tuning in. You can criticise the pair all you want, but they both bring eyes to the sport.

Neither of them are particularly accomplished boxers, with this fight difficult to split. That’s what will make it all the more entertaining. We can’t wait to see them both in action.
