Ed Woodward to Chelsea? Marina Granovskaia replacement mooted in bizarre Twitter rumour

Silly season really is in full swing, with former Man United chief Ed Woodward being linked with a move to Chelsea.

Woodward resigned as Man United CEO after being driven out by the angry, pitchfork-wielding supporters. He has been unemployed ever since departing Old Trafford.

There has been similar change over at Stamford Bridge, with Bruce Buck resigning as CEO and Marina Granovskaia expected to follow her former colleague in due course.

Could the stars be aligning over West London for Ed Woodward to move to Chelsea this summer? The simple answer, despite unfounded Twitter rumours, is NO.

The news originated from a fake account but was quickly picked up on by Man United supporters who were keen to poke fun at Chelsea over their apparent interest in Woodward.

The reality is that this move is never going to happen, with the Boehly/Clearlake consortium, who recently bought Chelsea, likely to have at least one brain between them.

Boehly himself is expected to replace Buck as Chelsea CEO which will leave Woodward out in the cold, for now.
