🚨World Rugby set to make an example of Eben Etzebeth ..

Posted by

The 34 year old lock Eben Etzebeth could be in big trouble when he faces the disciplinary committee this week over his eye gouge in the Springboks win over Wales last Saturday.

Wtf was he actually going, the Sharks second row will have to face the price of his actions today now and you’d be surprised if he didn’t get something heavy ..

Etzebeth will now front up before a disciplinary panel this week, where he is widely expected to receive a ban that could sideline him for months.

World Rugby’s sanctioning framework leaves little room for optimism:

  • Reckless, rather than intentional, contact: anywhere from six weeks to four years
  • Low-end punishment for intentional eye contact: 12 weeks
  • Mid-range: 18 weeks
  • Top-end: 24 weeks or more
  • Maximum sanction: a colossal 208 weeks (four years)

  1. Let us be fair. Unexcepted behavior from both players. Mann as well as Eben. Why just tell me WHY Mann will not be punished ( elbow to Eben’s cheek and right across his mouth) two fingers in Eben’s eye. Why can Mann complain but Eben being ignored. World rugby does not like our Springboks AT ALL. So when a Springbok is in the wrong, RED CARDED IMMEDIATELY. Same offense with northern hemisphere rugby players lightly punishment. Like the Ireland player who PURPOSELY hit Malcolm Marx with his shoulder. Now everyone wants to crucify Eben.Be fair WR in sentencing Eben be really fair. It looks agrevative but Mann played on. Shouldn’t your vision be blurry when your eye is being gourge? Just asking. Eben did wrong so this Mann. Punish BOTH IN FAIRNESS.

    1. Because the “evidence” for Mann doing any of those things is nowhere near concrete. The only hope Eben has is if the Ball twist off camera incident sets a precedent.

  2. Poor Sa,players are so kind and gentlethey would pull up if they seen a fly on the pitch ,and as for those NH.savages the way they bully they bully the inoffensive springboks with the conniving of the officials is beyond comprehension!
