What a great contest that was between two power houses of Gaelic football in Kerry and Dublin. Dublin won their 31st All-Ireland and James McCarthy, Stephen Cluxton and Michael Fitzsimons won their ninth medal.
As the speeches were going on Meath referee and man in the middle today David Gough was booed by a section of supporters. He had the perfect response he took the frosty reception in good humour, as the camera panned to him smiling and giving a wave to the stands.

Booing the referee is something that simply shouldn’t happen. Good or bad and to be honest David Gough was extremely good today, you can’t have disrespect like that. There should be a bit or respect for the job the referees do, without them, we without have our games which we love so well.
I take exception to the statement that Dublin fans booed the ref. Most Kerry fans were unhappy with his performance. They were saying James McCarthy should have been sent off . Booing was coming from Hogan stand
