As we know the inter-county hurling season will come to an end in mid July this year. A summer where the GAA is squeezed into the space of a few months. It’s all in a hope to help the club teams this year, it does however remove the shop front for the GAA, the Inter county season off our TV’s.
One twitter user disagrees with the hurling panel on their argument that this is a bad idea for the growth of the GAA. Saying that young players will get a lot closer to their hurling heroes at a club game. See it below;

Lads worried about losing out on a few € with the shortened season.
Do they know, that kids get to see even closer at club games as well??
And the club down 4/5 lads in the States for the summer, but no problem being down 4/5 lads playing county??

The GAA are extremely lucky that there is no major football tournament this summer, otherwise it would do serious damage to the coverage of the game.
