To act the way he did was dreadful he defrauded a dying priest that can’t be forgiven. We don’t know what was going on.in his head but he could have asked for help. Pretending to have have cancer is unforgiving.

Mick is in remission from Cancer and it hurt him so much the abuse of life Carey did. Mick said on Miriam O’ Callaghan this morning that he could not beleive how anyone could use such and illness when people savour this beatuiful life. As a Kilkenny person, Im totally discusted at how he abused people, when he could have had so much.
Watch some one who is suffering from or has passed because of a cancer and then try to fell some sympathy for him NOT ON YOUR LIFE
I am a cancer survivor and yes I can understand the way some people feel, but I see what happened to him in the same way as I would see a drug user or any substance abuser…..they are in need of help and so is DJ, ‘Probably’ Irelands greatest hurler
I agree Frank. Rockstars have been lauded after they died or overdosed. Sometime heavy drinkers drugs borrowed money gambling problems. Gerge Best had an airpirt named after him though he was a well known wife beater according to his ex wife. DJ hasnt killed anyone, assaulted anyone.
Politicians have been caught with fraudulant activties, ministers driging drunk up the wrong way on motorways, on tjeir phones playing golf during covid and parting, charities the same with CEOs defrauding public, certain broadcaster staff robbed the place blind and then say they are sick that you cant talk to me. Never to be heard of again. Some people take their own lives with debts like his. He chose to live He shud have filed for bankrupsy. He messed up. Do the time then leave him be.

We can all be in deep holes but we don’t con people like this instead of looking in to cameras he should have hung his head .
There is part of that want to believe that but he has been doing it since 2003 not just because he was in trouble financially he was living the high life, travelling around the world.
So not a lot of sympathy for what’s happened to him.
How some people have sympathy for Carey is beyond me. Pretending he had cancer what an insult to the people who are suffering from and passed from this horrible disease. He probably thought he was such a great hurler he would get away with it with the aid of the do gooders. This is not the last we will hear about this family. I have two close family members who have survived this horrible disease. All the other people who have passed. What an insult to their memory and the people who are fighting it every day to get as much time as possible with their loved ones. He will have plenty of time now to reflect on including the word CANCER in his scheme to extract huge monies to maintain a lifestyle he should never have in the first place. He should spend every day of the sentence behind bars in recognition of the false cancer story he tried and succeeded in convincing some well known people it was true.
well said, everything you said is spot on and correct, my mother died from that terrible disease i watched her pup herself with medication every day trying to fight it and lost the battle in the end

Pure Greed is all he was ‘suffering’ from. Ppl with addictions like drugs or gambling they ‘need’ their ‘fix’ just to get by. He had no such addiction he was just greedy that’s the long & short of it. He needed wanted money to live in luxury, he had accumulated debt by overspending to allow himself luxuries he really couldn’t afford and he wanted to be rid of debt but also have money to spend so he decided the quickest & easiest way was to pretend he was dying of cancer and to con his friends, colleagues & neighbours. That disgusting, evil& immoral. My mom fought a long hard battle against cancer and lost. 7 yrs ago this December 12 & my mother in law died 3 months later in march after her battle with cancer. Two women I adored. Shame on him.
