Former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa is being linked with a return to Europe.
Costa was one of the most recognisable characters in the Premier League over his three-year stint at Stamford Bridge.
Not only was the Brazilian-Spaniard a lethal finisher, netting 52 goals in 89 Premier League appearances, but he was also a colourful character who mastered the dark arts and wound up rival supporters on a weekly basis.
Diego Costa is absolute box office, which is why it’s a shame that he’s spending the latter years of his career playing for Atlético Mineiro in his native Brazil, where very few of his European fans will be able to see him in action.

Thankfully, according to Mundo Deportivo, that could be set to change, with both Cadiz and Elche having expressed an interest in bringing him back to Spain, where he first made a name for himself in European football.
It remains to be seen whether Costa is now coasting towards the finish line in his career or would be interested in accepting a new challenge at the grand old age of 33. We certainly hope he’d be up for it – because we miss him dearly!
