The Waterford and Ballygunner hurler was talking to Game On on 2fm and he hopes the Deise county are going to be the ones to catch Limerick this year.
“That’s the hope, that we’d bring back that buzz and belief that we’re good enough to win an inter-county All-Ireland,” he said.
“Sometimes there has been a bit of fear going into it you can’t get over the line because it hasn’t been done in so long
“Hopefully it gives everyone a buzz. For us [the Ballygunner contingent] we have a spring in our step. It’s absolutely brilliant.
“We are not far away. We have lost three games in the last two championships and they have all been to Limerick. We have lost a Munster final, an All-Ireland semi-final and an All-Ireland final to Limerick
“We’re not that far away. We all know Limerick are a great team, but we’re hoping to be the ones to catch them.”
