As we all know the mother of Paudie and David Clifford, Ellen Clifford was laid to rest this week. At the funeral her son Paudie gave some lovely words that really had people moved and in tears. Maybe she rest in peace.
âShe was typical of so many GAA moms throughout the country. She was in the background but her role was so crucial. Weâve had happy days but there was obviously a lot of bad days, a few cards and things like that. It was never our fault in her eyes! Before weâd play a match sheâd always say,
âNo fighting and stay on the field!â It just shows her passion for all things GAA and itâs just such a beautiful legacy to leave us. I canât imagine playing for Fossa and not having her down there watching. She went to every single game. Iâm just so happy that you were our mom and for everything you did for us and I canât believe we wonât ever see you smile again. We all love you, youâre going to be missed by so many people. Thanks, mom.â
We send our deepest condolences to the Clifford family, may Ellen rest in peace, Amen.
