Darren Till, meets Anthony Taylor in Saturday’s main-event of Misfits Boxing 20 in Manchester.
The former UFC title challenger was set to face Tommy Fury, that was until he pulled out of the contest after Till threatened to head-kick him during their launch press conference.
Soon after Fury released a statement and pulled out of the fight.
On Instagram, he wrote: “I am a professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans.
“I have wasted weeks in training camp. We are working hard to get a new opponent and date. I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys. Good news around the corner.”
But, Till, believes the real reason Fury pulled out of the scrap was because of the Liverpudlian’s boxing ability.
Speaking to SPORTbible he said: “I found out like the rest of everyone via Instagram story. It was quite disappointing.
“I think rumours get spread a lot in the boxing community… not saying in a bad light. But I think he might have thought I was just an MMA fighter, which I’m not. I feel like that’s the real reason in my mind.”
At yesterday’s weigh-in things got heated between Till and his new opponent.
