Ex-England striker Daniel Sturridge being sued over unpaid reward for finding lost Pomeranian

Former England striker Daniel Sturridge is being sued for not paying the man who found his lost dog a penny in reward money, according to TMZ.

Sturridge, who made 26 appearances for the England National Team, has seen his career slowly decline after his departure from Liverpool – largely as a result of injury and fitness issues.

However, there’s no denying what a successful career he had, particularly in the first-half of his 20s, with Manchester City, Chelsea and most notably Liverpool all benefiting.

While you never ought to measure footballing success in dollar signs, TMZ note that Sturridge has earned in excess of $40M (£28M) during his career to date.

So why has he allegedly not made good on his promise to pay $37K (£26K) to Foster Washington, the man who found his stolen Pomeranian, Lucci, back in 2019?

TMZ report that Washington has filed a lawsuit against Sturridge in hope of finally being paid the aforementioned amount.

There is no reasonable explanation as to why Sturridge wouldn’t have paid what he owed, with the 31-year-old comfortably being able to afford it, even while without a club.

This may well have simply fallen off his radar in the midst of his move to Trabzonspor, his ban from the game for being in breach of betting rules, and the rest.

Ultimately, with the lawsuit having been filed, as per TMZ, we will soon find out the details.
