Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly hoping Manchester United appoint Spain manager Luis Enrique to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Ronaldo’s fairytale return to Old Trafford has fast turned into a nightmare, with Man United already 12 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea and adrift of the top four.
The Portuguese forward’s Champions League heroics may well have kept Solskjaer in the job longer than could’ve been the case.
Unfortunately, he was unable to deliver for Man United away at Watford, a defeat which saw his manager dismissed.
Ronaldo now reportedly has his own ideas about who could come in and replace Solskjaer. According to Sky Sports, CR7 wants Luis Enrique to get the job.
The trouble is, Enrique is building something with La Roja. It would be nonsensical for him to scrap all his work and leave the Spanish national team ahead of Qatar 2022.
The Barcelona treble winner has now also effectively ruled himself out of the running, which Ronaldo won’t be particularly pleased to hear…

Luis Enrique is absolutely not planning to leave Spain right now, and he’s understood to be ‘so happy’ with his current job.
