New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has reportedly met with Jorge Mendes to discuss Cristiano Ronaldo moving to Stamford Bridge.
Boehly has a tough act to follow in Roman Abramovich. The Russian oligarch transformed Chelsea into a footballing superpower and won every single available trophy in the process.
The LA Dodgers chief will have to pull off something quite special this summer to convince the fans that he can take the club even further than Abramovich did – and he’s certainly trying.
News broke on Saturday night that Boehly had met with Jorge Mendes to discuss the unthinkable possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo signing for Chelsea ahead of next season.

Ronaldo is reportedly discontented at Manchester United as a consequence of last season’s failings and the lack of urgency to right the wrongs in the summer transfer window.
Whether he could actually jump ship and sign for a Premier League rival remains to be seen, but Mendes appears to be willing to entertain interest from clubs such as Chelsea.
With Romelu Lukaku returning to Inter Milan, Chelsea do need to find a new centre-forward. If that’s to be Ronaldo, it’s safe to say that’s a transfer that’d break the internet.
