Jorge Mendes is attempting to refire the engines for Cristiano Ronaldo’s proposed move to Chelsea.
After it became clear earlier in the window that Ronaldo was keen to leave Manchester United, Chelsea were considered as one of the frontrunners.
The Blues have parted ways with both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner this window, there is an obvious need to sign another attacking player.
However, Chelsea’s interest in Ronaldo cooled, with the club seemingly pursuing alternate targets, such as Barcelona’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
With Ronaldo yet to find a new club, with just days remaining of the window, it’s no surprise that Mendes has reportedly returned to the table with Chelsea.
As is reported by the Independent, Mendes is trying his best to engineer a deal that’d see Ronaldo move to the Blues, but Thomas Tuchel is still reluctant.
It’s hard to imagine Tuchel’s mentor Ralf Rangnick provided a glowing review of Ronaldo. It’d be a surprise to see this one come to fruition this week…
