Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother is unlikely to be present at his Manchester United return… because he’s banned her from watching big games when he’s involved.
Ronaldo will be making his second debut in Man United colours when the Red Devils face off against Newcastle United in the Premier League this coming Saturday.
Returning to the place where it all began for the Portuguese forward at the highest level will surely be one of the most memorable moments of his career.
Unfortunately for Ronaldo, it’s unlikely his mother will not be able to be present at the game, but only because he’s previously banned her from doing so.
As quoted by the Daily Star, Ronaldo revealed that he was forced to ban his mother from watching big games with him involved in for her own good.
“She’s not allowed now to watch big games.
“I say, ‘Listen, I don’t have a father any more. I don’t want to lose my mum, too, so you’re not going to watch quarter finals, semi-finals, or finals.”
“She gets so nervous, I don’t understand why. She is not allowed now to watch big games.”
“I get friends to stay with her and she goes for walks around the house. She fainted two times in the stadium. She is nervous.”
There might be one less supporter singing Ronaldo’s name within the confines of Old Trafford, but you have to assume she’ll have it on the tele at home!
