Manchester City have now counted themselves out of the race to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, who appears to be heading to Manchester United.
As little as 24 hours ago, Ronaldo’s camp appeared to be in advanced negotiations with Man City, with the Premier League champions working on agreeing a fee with Juventus.
That has all now changed, with Ronaldo appearing to be getting closer to returning to former employers Man United.
Man City have now reportedly counted themselves out of the race, leaving Man United alone in pursuit.
Told Manchester City will not be signing Cristiano Ronaldo. They considered the possibility but decided against.

City will no doubt brief the media claiming that they looked at the deal and decided not to proceed, but that’d merely be part of their face-saving operation.
In reality, having already missed out on Harry Kane, City have gone toe-to-toe with their arch-rivals Man United in the race to sign Ronaldo and they’ve been out-muscled.
Where City will go from here remains to be seen…
