A cricket fan was left battered in the face after some pressure to neck his beer resulted in a rather nasty faceplant.
Considering this year’s Ashes tests have not been much of a contest, you could forgive the fans on the mound for growing a little tired of the action.
Australia have been a class above one of the worst England sides we have seen in recent years, with the 2-0 deficit leaving the visitors on the verge of disaster down under.
A silver bullet solution to their boredom, so they decided, was to pressure fans returning from the bar to neck their beers as they walked past.
If you’re an Aussie, there’s plenty to celebrate, and if you’re English, copious amounts of alcohol may well be the only way you could endure the performance.
One man who evidently fell into one of these categories was filmed returning from the bar with several beers in a tray.
After chanting from the fans put pressure on him to get the beer down him, he obliged, with devastating consequences.
The first beer went, then the second, with the man clearly off-balance as he headed back in the direction from which he came.
He stumbled and fell, with his FACE breaking his fall. Watch the clip below – it’s not for the feint hearted.
Venue staff immediately tended to him to ensure he was okay, and it was pretty clear that he wasn’t.
He was stuck in a wheelchair and taken away, much to the enjoyment of the fans who put him there in the first place.

Following the fall, it’s safe to say that the poor man’s face was left looking like a rather accurate representation of the England team after the drubbing they experienced in the first two tests.

We, of course, hope that the poor fan is feeling better and is able to make a full recovery without having any sort of permanent disfigurement. Perhaps, one day, he’ll be able to laugh at the footage, if he can’t already.
Unfortunately, England fans will struggle to ever see the funny side of their side’s performances in Australia this month.
Chris Woakes said before the tournament that he hoped the players could let the cricket do the talking and the vast amounts of pre-Ashes controversy could be swept under the rug, as was reported by the Telegraph.
The action on the field has certainly taken over the back pages, but for all the wrong reasons. England’s hopes of defying the odds in Oz have fallen flat on their face.
