Former star hurler with the Rebels Ben O’Connor is set to become the new Cork hurling manager for the 2026 season. Huge news and that’s according to the Irish Examiner, this appointment shouldn’t come as a surprise to many.

Ben O’Connor will have a tough job lifting this Cork squad back up after a bitterly disappointing end the All-Ireland final. Cork still have some good and quality hurlers though and it will be interesting to see who stays on and who decides to hang up their boots.

No doubt about though, Cork fans will be happy with this appointment in Ben O’Connor, the man won two All-Ireland’s with the Rebels and multiple All Stars and least forget the job he did with the U20’s
