The former Cork hurler Mark Foley has called out Cork GAA and these so called development squads and are they actually working? Have a look below ..
MORE HERE: 🚨People are not happy with the news coming out of Cork GAA this evening ..
Cork have one school in the last 8 of the Harty Cup quarter finals. These development squads are a total waste of time. Time to totally change strategy and look at the Tipperary model in hurling and Kerry model in football. And the 3rd level quality is shifting to Limerick.

Here are some of the comments online ..
Funny that the county with the most Harty Cups doesn’t even get a mention
The Clare team of 95, 2013 & 2024 had a chunk of their team who played schools hurling
Ironically Clare have 2 teams into the last 8 but kinda typical of a Cork man to dismiss Clare hurlers 😆😆I’d start with a review of the whole Rebel Óg set up, it’s 14 years on the go and I’ve yet to have someone tell me it’s been a success.
But sure 3 Cork schools got to the quarters last year and the 4 Cork Harty schools this year 2 were in each group Colmans Midleton CBS and The Mon CBC so there was a good chance 2 or 3 wouldn’t make it through , it’s Harty Cup every team is competitive any can get knocked out .
Stats. Midleton CBS won a Harty in 2019. The only cork school to do so in the 2010-2024 14yr period. Contrast with 6 wins in the 80s and 5 wins in the 90s
2nd level is the most important area for sports development. Puzzling how casual official Gaa are about investing in it.
