Blackrock GAA said the following in a statement;
We are devastated to learn of the tragic passing of our former goalkeeper, Trevor Barry. Everyone at the club, and indeed the wider Blackrock and St. Michaels’ community who knew Trevor, are heartbroken. We extend our deepest condolences and support to all of the Barry family at this difficult time.
Trevor was a county-winning goalkeeper with the Rockies on three occasions – 1999, 2001 and 2002. But above all his sporting achievements, he will be remembered as a loyal friend, a much-loved, quick-witted character, and a cherished part of our community.
There are very few words that can capture this loss. All we can say is thank you, Trevor, for being our friend.
