Cork took on Kerry yesterday afternoon in a sunny Páirc Uí Chaoimh, during the game there was a penalty given to the kingdom that is causing a stir online, there’s calls from some people to have the game replayed.. Kerry only won by two points and this was a massive call from the match day referee.

Of course the 2 Cork players look close when he's already down.
Below is when foul's initiated with 2 arms around him. If there was no foul, Geaney was straight through and the 2 were too far away to catch him. Just as extra proof of a goal scoring opportunity, Clifford wide open pic.twitter.com/0l6aCrqQAp— Derek Brosnan (@DerekBrosnan) June 3, 2023
Without Clifford, Kerry are nothing. Without him there would have been no All-Ireland. Without him, they would have lost yesterday to an awful Cork team. They better pray he doesn’t get injured… https://t.co/HeWEam6UW0

Outside the box, with 2 covering defenders, not to mention the keeper. How is it a clear goal scoring opportunity? @SecondCaptains @EamonnMurphy19 @tonyleen @officialgaa #GAA #Cork #kerry hardly because of the Kerry player doing the titanic? pic.twitter.com/wQBFXIuVd1

Kerry will take on Louth next and Cork will take on Mayo, it’s expected that both teams will get though now and isn’t it great to see Cork going back to where they should be and competing with Kerry right up until the end.
Kerry and indeed Gaelic football need a strong Cork side, that rivalry is hugely important for the game.
Ref. ‘should have gone to Specsavers’ before taking charge of the match
The reff was 100percent correct. If a player has a goal scoring opertunity the rule is there that if its outside of the penalty area it can be awarded. And clearly the kerry player was fould. Which was a crazy move given that both of teams either county kerry or cork could have won as it was a very well contested mach.and that’s all it takes to trow away a mach a split second minute of madness. Sadly thats the harsh reality of it
Two awful teams
Cork should be in div 4
I thought the Ref had an awful game and so had the Linesman it was a professional foul on the Cork Man when he was caught around the neck which I do believe it should have been a straight Red and also when Cork got. a free kick and wanted to take a quick free David Clifford pushed the player so that his team could go back to there defence and he didn’t even get a card.Brutal Refereeing Needs to be looked at
Easy solution to all your problems paddy. Take up refing
I would love to but am a little too old I think I would do a better job
No such thing as a professional foul in GAA.
As for that incident and other similar…Cork players kept grabbing Kerry players arms when they tried to play the ball then throwing themselves to the ground. Referee fell for it every time.

I thought the ref had a great game.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion
Its the rule; any foul inside the 20m that denies a goal scoring opportunity is a penalty and a black card.
Best referee and has being for quite some time.

The reff was 100percent correct.
The reff was right two give it look at the rules it’s there in black and white
Cork can only blame themselves
Rule 2.2 (ii)
A free kick is awarded for a foul by a defending player inside his own 13 m line but outside the large rectangle shall be taken from the 13 m line opposite where the foul occurred.
It happens a lot in Gaelic football but there’s no penalty given just a 13 m free given. Some refs give penalties some don’t for that sort of fouls. A lack of consistency
Cork are still crying since 1988.
Up the Royal.
Premier ship Gaelic football is shite,, lost interest becauseteams are still init after losing once or twice,,, as the add says , when it’s gone , it’s gone,, and so should the championship, when you lose you gone, that’s key to good fooball,, drives a team on,,,,,,, no one here is winning,, except Gaa finances,,,,,, load of shite
Totally agree with you it’s just making money for the GAA. (Grab all associates
Denis Brennan 100% correct.
