REVEALED: Roman Abramovich’s stance on Conor McGregor taking over Chelsea Football Club

Posted by

A report published by Sky Sports has cast doubt over Conor McGregor’s chances of buying Chelsea Football Club.

McGregor has been one of the most vocal potential buyers since Roman Abramovich publicly listed his beloved Chelsea for sale. As you’d expect, many have taken the Irishman’s apparent interest in buying the club with a pinch of salt.

McGregor is a renowned wind-up merchant and could easily just be aligning himself with the bidding for clout. It’s no great secret that he doesn’t have the £3bn required to meet Abramovich’s reported asking price.

Even if McGregor was able to form a consortium with the necessary financial power to buy Chelsea, it seems as though it’s unlikely that Abramovich would give the greenlight to the sale.

Sky Sports have published a report assessing all the known competitors in the race to takeover Chelsea, and what they’ve said on McGregor won’t offer him much hope of successfully purchasing the West London giants.

“Conor McGregor – MMA fighter and Manchester United supporter who claimed on social media on Friday that he was offering £1.5billion. Not thought to be the profile of owner Abramovich is looking for.”

McGregor is a loose cannon and Chelsea are one of Abramovich’s most beloved assets. We’re inclined to agree that the Russian oligarch will not entertain McGregor’s interest in buying the club.
