Conor Benn could face a four-year ban from professional boxing following a failed drugs test that scuppered his fight with Chris Eubank Jr.
Eubank Jr vs Benn was one of the most highly-anticipated all-British boxing bouts there have been for several years, but no longer, unfortunately.
Benn tested positive for the banned substance clomifene ahead of the fight, which resulted in the postponement of his fight with Eubank Jr.
While the pair will be hoping to still stage the bout in the future, Benn is facing a lengthy ban which would prevent it from ever materialising.
According to The Sun, boxing officials could ban Benn from professional boxing for up to four years as a consequence of his failed drugs test.
An official probe is understood to have been launched into his alleged wrongdoing, with the maximum penalties likely to be a serious concern to Benn and his team.
It is at this point unclear exactly what is going to happen in the weeks and months ahead, but whatever it may be, it’s unlikely to be positive from Benn’s perspective.
