Chelsea became the first team to have won all major European trophies after defeating Real Betis 4-1 in the Conference League final on Wednesday.
In the press conference, Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer claimed that his teammate Tosin Adarabioyo wanted the player of the competition award.
“Can I ask a question, who gives Player of the Tournament out for the competition?,” asked Palmer.
He was told that UEFA technical observer’s panel makes the decision.
He replied: “Can someone tell him Tosin wants it.”
Palmer’s comments left everyone in laughter, including Adarabioyo, who was sitting next to him.

Palmer played a crucial role in the final as Chelsea came from behind to win the competition comfortably.
The gifted winger admitted after the game that he grew frustrated with Chelsea’s lack of creativity and took the matter into his own hands.
“I was just sick of getting the ball and going backwards and sideways,” he told reporters. “I thought ‘when I next get the ball I’m going to go’ and it worked.
“There was a bit of space chopping and changing and I saw Enzo running, so I just put it over the top.”
CBS reporter Anita Jones noticed that Palmer kept his player of the match award in his waistband while he came to chat with her, prompting her to question why he had done so.
She asked: “Cole, interesting way to carry your trophy there.”
Palmer replied: “I’ve got no pockets, so I put it there”.
